Where as the story of the flood implicitly, one way or another, violates a whole array of them.

There is a prevailing thought even among christians that the world preflood was not primitive at all but a society advanced perhaps beyond our own. So unless science has nailed down the composition of 'wormwood.' it could literally be some sort of alloy or futuristic building material that could have been used to construct a ship. and perhaps the Bronze Age writer of genesis knew of no other type of ship than a sea faring one. making the ark a boat rather than a starship.
Or even better the ark could have been a doomsday vault like they have in Colorado and in Norway. Where it is a massive system of caves dug into a mountain that contains ever variation of seed and even genetic material to maybe one day repopulate the earth like Noah's ark did.
But because the Bible says boat I'll stick with the boat... but come to find out it was a ship or cave, my belief in god will not change.
