yes, when a submarine goes deeper, the greater water pressure compress the pressure hull noticeably and actually causes the submarine’s volume and therefore displacement to decrease by a significant amount. since the submarine’s mass hasn’t changed, the submarine’s buoyancy become more negative. Conscious compensation with ballast and trim tanks is required.
