Yes but that was in a time in which crocodiles lived in Antarctica. And there were just a few thousand nomadic tribes of humans in that era. Their chances of survival where thus greater than 8 Billion humans who rely entirely on Mechanized agriculture and all the wonders of modern technology.
When the weather pattern changed some 120,000 years ago, all that our ancestors did was to follow the herds of animals and keep living on these resources. We can’t really do that, so if that happens, it would be right to assume that our population will start to shrink and that we will end up with a much reduced number of individuals who will have adopted a very different lifestyle perhaps with some pockets of civilization left here and there but we are almost sure that even these pockets of civilization will not have anything to do with the world as we know it
