Also, are you a Muslim or an adherent to some other religion?  I'm interested as to what is motivating your obvious animus here as well as what makes you so emotional on this topic.

I'm an atheist and a Taoist, but neither are really relevant. The animus stems from a belief that discriminating against people based upon religious belief is itself as harmful as discriminating on the basis of skin color, sex, or sexual orientation. It comes from a commitment to liberty which is underwritten by a vague utilitarianism.
