I've done it twice, it isn't dangerous, or at least it wasn't for me. Just use caffeine and never go to bed. I never go to bed anyway, I just pass out when I can't stay awake anymore, so not going to bed wasn't an issue for me. If you're not the kind of person who nautrally has profound thoughts going on in their head all the time, I would recommend meditating while trying to stay awake.
