Acupuncture works for my mom for a few days afterwards.

Tens machines may also help a little.

I used a TENS machine a lot when I was dealing with nerve damage in my shoulders.  It was one of the best small investments I think I have ever made.  It was small and I was even able to use it at work when the pain was really bad.

I've got a drawer full of those at home. I stopped saying "I already have (more than) one", they ship 'em anyway. Thanks, taxpayers!
