To me, it's just like a religious huckster; some people just want to be in a crowd that believes. Example- the chump at one of his rallies in '16, "I've got the words...", crowd gets excited, "I've got the BEST words!", and the crowd goes nuts.
It never fails to make me smile that the longest word in the comment was ‘words.’
