Burning the Bible

For those whom haven't seen it, but want to, I've hidden my thoughts about the movie. I hate it when a good movie is spoiled for me, even if it's an accident..

To me, it relates because of the whole saving the bible thing. Eli had the last surviving copy, in braille, and the people who stole it from him can't read it, but he lives long enough to remember it, and recite the entire book for the only civilized society left to have on record. The crazy fucks back East had planned to use it for political reasons, much like it's used today, but in the end, it ends up on a shelf next to copies of all the other major religious texts. I was thinking that the bible would have no other use but to be used as an example of ancient literature in a post apocalyptic world.
