Centrism advocates gradual change within a political system, opposing the right's adherence to the status quo and the left's support for radical change. Support for a middle class is a defining trait of centrism, holding that it is preferable to reactionary or revolutionary politics.--Wikipedia
evolution is nice, revolution not always nice

I mean, a bit more seriously: I am concerned how the westenr democracies are slipping more into tribalism rather than open, frank discussion, we can disagree but why demeanour, insulting, trivializing etc people who have a different view? It is a very dangerous slippery slope that we are taking.
My opinion is that all started when we lowered the standards of our schools: when you let a student finish his career and in the end he is not really able to understand a text, to understand how to interpret the meaning of something figuratively but always go for the literal meaning, that cannot make few quick calculations in the back of their head to understand if a politician is servong him a lie or something that is too expensive etc, than we have a citizen that is able to be manipulated by the first populist leader or bot/troll farm.
We have a lot of citizens that do not have the "cultural antibodies" to navigate between fake and real, between plausible and not plausible etc
Where schools are harder democracies are better (Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Norway, Iceland etc etc)
