I see where the "peasants" are revolting and throwing eggs at the king of Spain on his tour of the flooded areas. While I'm not proof for every weather disaster, I chose this place as potentially safe against most calamities. It has even survived two major earthquakes. One in '71 and the next in '94. I see people buying homes near oil fields, downstream of hydro (and other) dams and even in old riverbeds. Not expecting much here, but one really never knows. Try one's best, is all I can say.
