Also, while we’re on the changes to the DSM-5, here’s  the testimony of someone who was actually on the DSM panel for that specific issue.

TL;DR: the way the previous editions of the DSM talked about “Gender identity disorder” was fundamentally at odds with how it actually worked.

Edit - and all it does is essentially state that "Gender Dysphoria" was broken up into multiple pieces to more accurately describe the mental disorders.... oof.

It's almost like what I've been saying all along... it stopped being a "disorder" in itself and instead became a bunch of lesser disorders...
