What I perceive is you being the opposite of an adult. Teenagers with underdeveloped brains behave the way you're suggesting, but by all means you continue to do you. I'm not your keeper, after all.

What you perceive is irrelevant; your position indicates that you require a boss to behave as a parent, which is objectively childish behavior.

A child requires authority to solve his own problems because he lacks the capability to do so himself; he cries to mother, "Mom! Mom! Billy hurt my feelings!"

Does mother go and attack Billy, or does she tell her child to grow up and not let words hurt them so much?

If it's severe enough, and the bully refuses to stop, I'd say the former would be in order.
