While most conservatives will tell you they are opposed to this behavior at a moral level, most will also tell you that as long as the individual keeps it in their own home we truly do not care; if it hadn't been shoved on us for the last decade or two we would likely not even know it existed to such a large degree.
"I don't have anything against gay people so long as they keep it to themselves. If they hadn't shoved it in our faces by things like kissing in public, I'd have no objection."
I'm reminded of an interview of a conservative woman who asserted that homosexuals wanted to have more rights than heterosexuals, to which the interviewer asked if by more she meant that they wanted equal rights, and she affirmed that, saying yes. Gays, queers, trans, are okay so long as they aren't allowed to have the same rights as other people. That's just basically a form of oppression. Trying to erase and make them invisible.
