Well of course I never meant to suggest Trump was a normal part of the process, merely that elections not going your way was. His nefarious contempt for democracy doesn't change the fact he was legally elected, as depressing as this is. I had to watch the Brexit referendum slip passed by a very narrow margin, after a raft of lies and rhetoric from some of the Brexiteers. I had to watch Nigel Farage elected as an MP. None of that is "normal", but in a democratic system, sometimes things don't go the way you want, that was all I meant.
