Megyn Kelly went on to allege that she knew "somebody very, very close" to the Epstein case "who is in a position to know virtually everything." She claimed the unidentified individual "told me, from the start years and years ago, that Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile."
"He was into the barely legal type. Like, he liked 15-year-old girls. And I realize this is disgusting. I'm definitely not trying to make an excuse for this," she continued. "I'm just giving you facts, that he wasn't into, like, 8-year-olds. But he liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby."
The host then claimed, "We have yet to see anybody come forward and say, 'I was under 10, I was under 14 when I first came within his purview.' You can say that's a distinction without a difference. I think there is a difference. There's a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old, you know?"

This is unfortunately a very common attitude. Especially among Christians.
There's this idea ingrained in religion where women (and that includes any over the age of puberty) are responsible for anything to do with sex, while men aren't. Women are expected to 'control themselves', even if they're not the age of consent, while men are just supposed to be animals (but women shouldn't dare prefer to meet a Bear!) My mother and I both had kids very young, got married very young. And even now I still have a hard time viewing either of us as victims. We said yes. The only problem is, neither of us had the capacity to say 'yes'. Even if we thought we did. There's this idea that girls past puberty are supposed to say 'no'. Not that men are supposed to be the responsible ones. Combined with a lower age of consent in the past, and you get this idea that the onus is on girls to say 'no', not for boys to. For men to.
Obviously there's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old. Guess what else that means? There's a difference between a 15 year old girl, and a 25 year old man. Nevermind a 45+ year old man. And they're different In the same way there's a difference between hijacking a plane and flying it into a building, and hijacking a plane and flying it into a house. Sure, one is worse. But they're BOTH fucking bad. And it's time we stop excusing men of their behaviors. For as puritan of attitudes as we have about sex in this country, it never seems to apply to men.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.
