The only thing gays are a threat to is the church's political power, which in my opinion, can only be a good thing. This gives me even more reason to support gay rights.

Promoting freedom, and reducing the church's iron grip on society?...?!?!?!?!...What's not to love about that, 2 birds, 1 stone!
