(I don't really measure stuff when I cook, so these measurements are an approximate guess. But it's fairly close. And I am assuming that you have a 5 x 9 inch baking pan; not sure how else someone would cook a meatloaf but perhaps there are other ways.)
- Meatloaf
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 pound ground beef
- 5 strips bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 6 tablespoons onion soup mix
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- pepper and seasoning salt
Sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Preheat the oven to 350º F. In a large bowl mix together ketchup, egg, and milk. Then combine the ground beef, bacon, mushrooms, onion, bread crumbs, onion soup mix, garlic powder, pepper and seasoning salt and mix together well. Form into a loaf and place in the baking pan. In a small bowl mix together ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar and then spread half this sauce over meatloaf. Place the meatloaf in oven for 1 hour.
NOTE: After 30 minutes of baking, spread the other half of the sauce over meatloaf, then continue baking for the remaining 30 minutes.
I shall be trying this, thanks Ryft.
