I have to agree with the others here. If your parents aren't pushing you to go to church every Sunday, then I'd just keep quiet about it. Once you get out on your own maybe you can tell them if the subject comes up. If they do make you go to church, then it might be easier to just pretend to go along with it as long as it's not one of those crazy, fanatical, rolling-on-the-floor churches.
I'm curious what you mean when you say "my step mom talked to me about her religion and how she wanted my idea on how my dad would react to her being that way." Is your dad an atheist? Is he a different religion from your mother, and perhaps unaware of it?
