I totally understand the confusion.
"Confession" is being defined as interpersonal disclosure, in this sense. In other words, talking to someone else or admitting something to someone else.

I totally understand the confusion. Confession, for the purpose of this study, is defined as interpersonal disclosure (talking to someone else) about something that you feel that you have done wrong or that bothers you.
