On many forums I have found that one is limited to certain areas of the forum initially (say 10 posts) before one can get into the major portion of the discussion threads. Is it possible to do this here??

It's hard to be sucked into the interactive field that is a forum when you're barred from participating until you have first posted in places where you have no interest 'X' amount of times.

By stopping a few bad eggs from instantly jumping into X thread upon joining, it might be possible to lose the interest of someone who might otherwise have become engaged in the community.

I have personal issues with gatekeeping... so perhaps I am a biased source when I say that my interest rapidly wanes when I am faced with it. What if one of the 10 people who are almost exactly like me on this planet starts out intrigued but by their fifth post is bored out of their skull? Hell, some days I can barely find two threads that I have any interest in responding to at all... and that's after being saturated in an environment where I usually enjoy the company of the people.

TL: DR

I don't desire losing a single potential member to gatekeeping, whether bad egg or FOTM.
