Please quote the verse where his punishment will grow worse. From what I know about punishment in the new testament, stealing a paperclip is equivalent to raping and murdering a child.
Sin is sin. There is no "sin getting worse", or a "punishment getting worse"
Hell is hell. Hell is maximum punishment. Hell is punishment for ALL sin regardless of what scale of severety your mortal mind decides to place it in.
Christian rapes little kid. Church bans kids for him. Christian preacher asks Jesus for forgiveness and he will be forgiven and allowed into paradise.
Atheist tries to protect kid from getting raped. Runs soup kitchens and does as much as he could for humanity goes to hell for not asking Jesus to forgive him.
That is the moral structure of the new testament. There is no tier system. Sin is sin. Accidently walking out of your place of employment with a pencil that doesnt belong to you (theft) is the EXACT SAME THING is being Hitler, or a murderer who loves to kill people just for the hell of it.
