Just to play Devil's Advocate, perhaps, maybe, he's concerned about potential backlash among his friends and family if they google his username and see him registered to atheist forums, and is trying to remove himself to avoid potential persecution over it.
If your username was the same for many accounts, linking to alt.usernames, full name, address etc. I might be concerned if my fundie friends saw my name linked to an atheist website.
Maybe he joined to troll, maybe he joined to query and question his own beliefs.. who knows.
Maybe I'm being too forgiving, but if its possible, and he cares that much about it.. what harm does it do to just delete his account as he wishes. If you were running about deleting accounts all over the place (not that I was bored enough to look beyond a few, and that was bored enough).. maybe he has a valid reason to do so, and doesn't feel like having to explain yourself.
