Not to mention, the Israeli assasinations of super-valuble resources (i.e. Nuclear Physicists and Engineers) constantly keeps them behind. Fact that the Iranians lost a missile site, a Revolutionary Guard general who was all for ICBM capabilities, etc to a "mysterious" explosion makes me sleep better at night.
I agree with your analysis, and that this appears to be America attempting to muster the dutch courage to attack Iran, which will not end well economically for the US.
The only people who will be enriched by this is the 1% who own the Military-Industrial complex.
It is those people who will be responsible for crashing our economy and ending our super power status.
All because they need to make a fucking buck.
