You worry unnecessarily...your children will shine IN SPITE OF everything you do to help them. Such is the way of youth. They HAVE to be hurt (unmercifully) and as a parent it is like death of a million small cuts to watch but they WILL survive it and become the discerning individuals that you had always hoped they would be.

As for the OP... yes there are many males to whom the concept of commitment is an anathema to their very being but it is not the norm. Teach your children that life is a tow way street, what they give they get,

I have taught my children to be discerning in all aspects of their lives and be nobodies fool.
