I thought it was something like that. It didn't sound like what you meant to say, so I figured the benefit of the doubt was in order there.

Well, when you say in Turkish..."birine kötülük/yaman etmek" you mean like you're doing something not always in their good interests, but literally, it means you're "doing evil" against someone.
Of course, I know aleia would never mean to do evil to her friend.
