I'm not too good at philosophy so some insight on philosophical views on morality from other great thinkers as well as expounding on the views of some of those mentioned in the article would be helpful because I'm sure that the philosophers mentioned have much more to say on the subject. Thanks.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
