Every atheist has to be at least 0.00001% agnostic otherwise they are closed to the possibility.
At the point they have closed themselves off to even the possibility of being proven wrong they are no longer an atheist, they are a fanatic.
Dawkins is agnostic to Religion in the same way he is agnostic to Santa. Perhaps Santa *is* real and has disguised himself with methods not known to current scientists. Perhaps as science advances we will discover these methods and prove him real. This is a possibility, albeit a ridiculously unlikely one.
