Even with low to no oxygen levels in the atmosphere there is still gas that is being pushed out of the way by the comet at incredible speeds causing friction. Wouldn't the Amino acids get heated up due to the friction of the comet plummeting to Earth therefore rendering them useless?
Quite the opposite. Research has shown that the extremely high pressures and temperatures of impact, whilst destroying many of the organic compounds, actually create even more complex compounds vital for life.
