I said that it would be mean to say that to the parents. Whether their child was born with thoughts and a personality most likely matters very little to the parents. They probably love their child, even if that child will never know or return that love. All I'm saying is that without the ability to think, the 'personhood' is missing and all that remains is a biological shell. It's a support system with nothing to support.
