Sleep paralysis just sounds unpleasant. I'm glad I've never experienced that one.
I've never really believed in disembodied spirits, but there was a time that I thought perhaps "ghost phenomena" were explainable as emotional and/or psychic echoes (I'm sure we've all heard this idea). It actually made sense to me until I realized that emotions and thoughts, no matter how strong, cannot directly influence the world except through the actions of a person. If thoughts and emotions can be "broadcast" beyond the brain that manufactures them, I am unaware of the process that accomplishes it.
