Really, you did whatever you did to the Germans. The fact that you call them "Nazis" is just propaganda. It gives you the impression that you did not punish the Germans for what "their government has done".
Besides, yes, I do have sympathy for the Germans. First, they were put under a brutal treaty that emancipated them, and when they said that they won't take shit from others anymore, you declared war upon them once more. Who wouldn't?
In theory, they had emulated us, how we had freed ourselves from the treaty of Sevres and built an independent nation.
Not to say the fault was entirely on your side. Hitler, in his megalomania was too careless with how fast he wanted to expand. He could have just bided his time for a little longer.
As you had said, we went a lot, a lot further than the Germans. We still exist as a nationalist country, a nation state that was built on the tenets nationalism, unlike the German government that was established after WWII, that was modelled after the US government.

Chuck said we suck too much to even go that far. We've already surpassed these, friend.

Although severely skewed in his outlook Mehmet does have a point in that the treaty and the repairations the Germans were made to pay from the First World War made a second inevitable. The Germans desperation during the depression caused by these harsh penalties made it all too easy for a nutcase like Hitler to get in power.

However, if I was to put rankings on every country in terms of progress then modern Germany would definitely be higher on the list than modern Turkey. Any arguement to the contrary would need to demonstrate evidence that Turkey has better technology, a better system of government, a better education system, more influence in the world and a more enlightened social structure. Good luck with that.
Well, who did you expect to come to power? A person that upholds the national honour that has been severely damaged by a treaty that has been the result of French douchebaggery.

And well, your rankings do not really concern me, friend.
The fact that Germans seem to be better in terms of economy or technology now does not mean that we should prostrate ourselves before them and accept defeat. If there is someone that is better than you, the least you can do is to strive to be better. And I know that we can do that.
The fact that Germany now ranks higher-thanks to having been already put in a place where it would never archive to the greatness of their forefathers, have entirely concentrated their efforts on their economy and scientific progress, although I could say that Germany was already a great economic and scientific power during the days of the Nazis. Thankfully, their position as being a border region to the Soviets during the cold war made NATO assistance to Germany in terms of economy and science a necessity. We were not given the same assistance, even though we were in the same situation.
A nation's greatness is not measured by just it's economic wealth or the wealth of it's members. Obviously, the national greatness of Poland, for example, ranks higher in my eyes in comparison with the US.
The US never really went through the "examination" that the Poles have went through within their national history. We are, as a matter of fact, a great nation because we have faced almost every peril a nation could face, and still thrived. Same, for the Germans. However unlike the Germans, who were generally static throughout their history, we have been the quite opposite.
