St. Gregory the Great speaks from Scripture and Tradition, again. They are upheld as true by the Holy Apostolic Catholic Church, instituted by Christ himself with the Papacy traceable to St. Peter.
You don't have to believe in his Church of course. You may reject it as you please. I am speaking within the context of Christianity, as many of the threads on this forum tend to be (both for better and for worse)
No it isn't---it can be, since its grave matter, but sin is more complex than that. Anyone who seeks God with their whole heart and strives to only do goodness can also eventually receive the Beatific Vision. To someone who did not believe in God but still sought him out always, who never lost hope or charity toward all humans, to be united to God at last would be a welcome relief.
Yep, thanks for sort of proving Blessed John Henry Newman's point!

I wouldn't want to be in heaven if this 'heaven' of yours involves stroking gawd's over sized ego. I consider that hell.

Mary Immaculate, star of the morning
Chosen before the creation began
Chosen to bring for your bridal adorning
Woe to the serpent and rescue to man.
Sinners, we honor your sinless perfection;
Fallen and weak, for your pity we plead;
Grand us the shield of your sovereign protection,
Measure your aid by the depth of our need.
Bend from your throne at the voice of our crying,
Bend to this earth which your footsteps have trod;
Stretch out your arms to us, living and dying,
Mary Immaculate, Mother of God.
