I took my kids to the local splash park today. There was a group of children there and by their accents, I could tell they were African. They were chasing this one little girl around mercilessly telling her she was a witch, possessed and evil. One of the children even suggested they "burn the spirits out of her".
Of course, I was appalled. I looked around for an adult in charge of them, but none of the other parents seemed to have a clue so I forced them to stop myself.
Anyway, I thought I'd share this bizarre occurrence. I know about the child "witches" in Africa, it just disturbed me to hear children speaking that way right here in Nashville. Ever heard this kind of thing where you're from?
