Oh I think I understand you very well. You are one of those people that seem to think that everything must have a purpose, even when there is no real need for one. Butterflies can do very well without purpose, monkeys can do very well without purpose, pretty much every animal on the planet can go without purpose. Yet because you as a thinking conscious animal have a need for purpose because most things around you serve a purpose to you.
For starters you said we dont believe in god, which would imply we only disbelieve 1 particular god, which is not the case.
Furthermore, you claim there is something atheists are supposed to do with regard to find meanings in anything. Well guess what. People who don't collect stamps don't need to do anything, people who don't like sniffing glue don't need to do anything, and people who don't believe in deities don't need to do anything.
It is not a lifestyle, it is not a philosophy, it is simply not believing in the fairytales.

All I am using here is simple logic to answer and figure things out.
