Though, to oblige you, let's play this game.
So, there are two different human species.

One species. two ways comming into existance.

How does the genes of the 'garden variety' differ from the 'monkey'?

if they are to be compatiable why would they differ?

Is there anything else than the 'soul gene'?

Not according to Genesis.

And is it a recessive gene or a dominant one? If it's recessive, then it's likely that many humans are born without a soul. I thought that a soul was required to enter heaven, so this only proves that your god is highly unfair for not giving some individuals a fighting chance in the first place.

Am I missing something do you know of a study or something that ties souls to genes? It is my understanding that souls simply indewell bodies, and are tied to them so long as they live.

And what is the evolutionary benefit of having a soul?

Evidently none since monkey man developed without one.

Since the benefit only shows up after you're dead (heaven vs hell) there can be no evolutionary benefit. But that doesn't bother the Drinch. His whole point is we would never have attained our specialness through evolution alone. He is pretty sure there is a gap here only God almighty can fill but I'll be a monkeyman's uncle if I can find it.

Seeming as humans living nearly 4.5 billion years together without producing any offspring features as part of his hypothesis, I doubt he'd have a problem with that.

Since everyone knows that "gingers" (red-heads) have no soul, it must follow that they are descended from the monkeymen who never interbred with any of Adam and Eve's offspring. Which, of course, means that all monkeymen were red-heads.

You forgot about the flood. It took out all but noah's family and they were all decendants of Adam (Had souls)
