While it is no doubt true to say that I haven't studied the bible as you have I'm not sure it is fair to say that I haven't given either much thought.
As a young man I worked as a gardener with a born again Christian who attended bible study courses practically every day. He told me all sorts of things that he had learnt and consequently I would refer to the bible just to make sure that he had his facts right.
Also, as you can imagine I have not only studied but also had a keen interest not only in natural history but also many of the other sciences such as Cosmology, Astronomy, Physics etc.
And where does science conflict with the bible? Science has no interest in the bible or any other belief system.
However, as the bible is a product of a child like phase in human development and has not changed since it's original creation it is bound to conflict with our current understanding about the Universe. And this conflict can only grow as time marches on.
