Barney Frank said it best: The Democrats aren't perfect, but the Republicans are totally crazy.
In the local elections and the election is close, I'm going to vote for the Democrat just because they're far less evil than the Republicans. However, for the presidential election, I'll be voting for Jill Stein. I'm doing this because I live in Texas, one of the most conservative states in the union and I already know the state's electoral votes will go to Romney. If I lived in a battleground state, not only would I be voting for Obama, I would be volunteering for him to help him win votes.
I don't like the "Dems are just like Republicans" meme. I specifically remember that when Gore was running against Dubya. Eight years afterwards, we had alienated several foreign allies, engaged in 2 foreign wars (one of which was totally unnecessary), suffered one of the largest terrorist attacks in history, taken a budget surplus and turned it into a record budget deficit, given banks huge bailouts and divided the country in ways it had never been divided before. Those things happened under Bush, not Clinton, not Obama, Bush. As bad as Obama has been, McCain would have been worse and so would Romney. Much worse.
