That's not correct. I've never quarrelled with Rayaan. I don't even know who he is. But why should my honest remarks against Islam be viewed as a bone to pick with Rayaan? I denounce Islam as a dangerous religion, just as I declare openly that superstitious Christianity should be cleaned up to remove the superstition but I'm not so strong against Christianity because stupidity doesn't hurt anyone but terrorism does.

Along with being an atheist I am also a humanist. I would never legislate to forbid religion, as long as it respects other people's freedom.
The same way you use that broad brush on muslims, the same can be trowned right backatchya.
No, I don't think so. You are saying suicide bombers are Christians and Christians kill cartoonists who draw Jesus? The strange thing I've observed about political correctness is we treat Islam as a non-Caucasian religion and we are careful not to say bad things about it because it's politically not correct to do so. We think slamming Islam is like making racist remarks but it is NOT.
Muslim extremists are probably laughing up their sleeves that the West is so guileless. When you try to show that Christianity is as bad as Islam, you know you have made a mistake. There is no comparison. Christianity has its fairy tales same like all other religions but all religions are just superstitious. Islam is not just superstitious. It's violent and dangerous.
Do you know in my country, there is a singer who was famous in my dad's time. My dad even has very old records of his songs. He became a Muslim preacher and to all intents and purposes, he is a "moderate" Muslim. That's what everyone thought and he was always a good example of how moderate Muslims can be. Until Salman Rushdie wrote "The Satanic Verse" and he actually asked his Muslim class if anyone would kill Rushdie, to please put up his hand. And this guy put his hand up and told his students that if Rushdie was next to him that instant, he would kill him.
That shocked the world. The true face of Islam was shown to the world for just a tiny glimpse. But of course he tried to salvage everything by saying he was quoted out of context, etc.
Ask any moderate Muslim to speak the truth - should a blasphemer be killed after he's been tried by a Shariah court. The answer must be yes. Ask another question - should an apostate (someone who was once a Muslim but who now denounces his faith and condemns Allah and Muhammad) be killed if he's tried by a Shariah court. Again, the answer must be yes.
My Mum says I'm always an embarrassment and that I don't understand political correctness. But political correctness is not honesty. Honesty demands that I speak the truth - Islam is dangerous. But of course there are many Muslims who are lovely people and they won't kill a fly but in some circumstances, eg the Rushdie affair, they can suddenly show their frightening side.
