I don't know about Christians, but Shia Muslims, my experience with them, is they are not afraid to debate and have someone challenge their faith.
You can stick around here, I suggest you do. Just tone it down a bit and everyone will love you again.
I'm not asking for love. I just want to debate my own co-religionists. That's all. But they make it very hard. And I don't want to debate in an open thread like this. My experience with Christians is they usually evade a question if they have no answers or the only answers would undermine their position. And they have honed this evasion to an art. In a formal debate, they can't run away and hide. They have limited time to reply and they MUST reply. After some experience with debating Christians in an open thread, I've run out of patience. For me, it's a formal debate or no go.
But as you can see for yourself, that won't happen here or anywhere else. Christians will use the Bible mightily but when challenged to defend their Bible, they flee. It's the same in Christian Forums. They just ban the debater they think is probably "less" of a believer. The beauty of AF or any atheist forum is there is no special place designated for atheists only, quite unlike Christian forums. In CF, all discussions of Christian theology can only be made by Christians. All formal debates are for Christians only. It's as if Christians are an endangered species. I managed to get in on the basis of my religion but I got banned after my Opening Speech. You can see this in the link I posted a few posts up.
Bye!! (I really have to sign off or RaphielDrake is going to say I talk about leaving but I'm still here. Hahaha)
Grene, seriously this is what you did in CF and it doesn't endear you to others. Perhaps more people would debate you if they liked or at least respected you. If you have a point to make then make it but you can't expect your *ahem* fellow Christians to spar with you over every issue that's on the table and then when they don't you call them chicken or they are "running scared". Maybe you would have more people that would be willing to debate you if your approach weren't so abrasive. If you want to maintain that kind of relationship then head over to Debate.Org where the bulk of those visiting really get off on debating and seem to live for debating.
