Don't let them die. Starve them, hurt them, imprison them, put them in somewhere they couldn't of otherwise have comprehended but don't let them die. Turn them into husks, former shadows of themselves. Broken from the inside out. Once they're gibbering vegetables, release them. Once their former comrades catch sight of them they'll get it. They'll know it isn't going to be as simple as "wham, bam, heaven.", not if they oppose us. That if there is such a thing that can be regarded as hell then we are its wardens and we hold the keys.
Of course, its a moot point. Such a thing would be unforgivable and after all, we're far too humane for that.
