The difficult /conflicted questions are part if it's subtlety. The analysis behind it is pretty clever I've heard, it was created by a couple of women who did huge anounts of research, and I think the story goes that it was continued by their daughters (going by memory here).
I think the reason why MBTI has so many people who reckon it (myself included) is because of the quality of the profiles it produces - it's like looking in a mirror, warts and all. And it's not Derren Brown psychological trickery/Barnum statements; if you read other profiles it's not like looking in the mirror.
Anyway the reason I posted this question is simply because I saw some amateur research once which although not scientifically weighty, suggested that among english-speaking INTPs (mostly Americans I expect), they were far more likely to be atheists than the general population, in the current cultural environment.
I'm browsing from an iPhone so not easy to amass the results but reading through the responses, note how it's mostly INxx's who've actually taken the test and responded. That in itself is interesting to me.
We also have several INTx's responding, which is statistically very rare among the wider population. Now, this is an Internet forum so maybe it's a bit self-selecting on introverts, lol.
Also, MBTI is based on Karl Jung stuff.
Stimbo, the only reason I pointed to that site is because the test is free and I saw it recommended as credible results. I 'tested' myself first and it produced the same profile I've got every other time I've tested. Ignore any other crap that happens to be there.
