If you don't care, why bother looking on the bright side of life to start with? Seems redundant to me.

2 and 3 are about different aspects of life.

2 is related to the stupid things that bother other people. Like, in a social sense. It's easier not to care what other people think.

3 refers to simply staying happy no matter what. This is accomplished by always looking on the bright side.
