Actually, it isn't. Many species of animals engage in homosexual sex. Bonobos regularly use sex between males and males, or females and females, to stop in-group conflicts. Some rams are even exclusively homosexual (see: here).
And don't forget the giraffes. They are soooo gay .. not that there is anything wrong with that.
