When the Grand Fleet celebrated allied victory in 1918 by dressing its battleships in the flag of all the victorious allied nations, the Germans snickered contemptiously: "what honor is there in winning when most of the world is helping you". Only the Germans could think it more honorable to piss off the world so one could lose the war essentially alone.
