At any rate, there is no war on men.
Half true, imo. I don't think they mean to be as offensive or as rude or as blatently stupid as they are, but it seems like every time a Republican pundit opens their mouth, they say something absurd. Trying to fight birth control? Trying to define different types of rape? Raped women can't get pregnant? Or rape babies are a gift from god? Even Santorum, the man who almost became the Republican nominee for president, specifically said that God wouldn't allow a woman to be president. Even when they throw the women a bone and give us a female politician or candidate or pundit, they always wind up being batshit crazy (Michelle Bachman), stupid (Sarah Palin) or completely lacking in empathy (Ann Coulter) and they feel like 'token' female candidates.
The 'war on women' is more of a war from being stupid than anything. They keep sayin stupid, offensive things, thinking they're doing what the women want. It kinda reminds me of the American policy for Indians in the 1800's: do crazy, hurtful things, all in the name of helping them (and, yes, we thought we were helping the Indians then).
As for the made-up "war on men," yeah, there are some issues where men have legitimate complaints and issus to fight. This is NOT a war on men. There are sexist stereotypes that hurt both men and women, true, but to claim this constitutes a war on men completely ignores the harm these stereotypes do to women and it completely ignores the advantages men have because of those stereotypes. Sure, there are some obnoxious, loud, aggressive women out there, but a few angry feminist extremists do not constitute a war. Worst case scenario, those women just remain alone.
