I had a friend whose father employed that very method, and while technically, it did work, it enraged the mother, who just happened to pull in the driveway as my friend was streaking through the yard dripping wet on a chilly morning. So, yes, it would work. Whether or not you would be alive to contemplate your ingenuity after the parents came home is another matter altogether.
What are you saying, Is that now considered somehow wrong? They'll be saying the trough and pens I made for the kids were wrong next, its health and safety, political correctness and the UN all gone mad!
