Exactly!.....but the anti-gun idealouges are distracting from the real issue and are expending too much energy and effort on more gun control legislation and not enough time and effort on recognizing the mental health issues and other environmental factors that would motivate someone to pick up a weapon and begin killing people, (whether it be with a gun or with fertilizer mixed with racing fuel).....you ignorant loudmouthed naive pompouass leftist fringe nuts aren't even addressing the core issue! This isn't a question about guns and more gun control legislation, this is an issue about the heart and mind of someone who could be motivated to commit murder!
Uhm........ how, exactly, do you propose we prevent people with mental health issues from getting guns? There are a lot of people with severe mental health problems who have gone undiagnosed for years simply because they don't have adequate health care. How can we expand health care enough to cover these people without treading into 'socialist' territory?
Anyway, speaking as one of those "anti-gun idealouges" I'm more than willing to talk about mental health issues in the gun control debate. I'm also willing to talk about the easy availability of firearms. I want to look at the whole picture, not just little bits and pieces of it, and while I don't necessariarly support strict gun control laws, I'm also not strictly against them either.
So far, the NRA has done a pretty masterful job of preventing meaningful legislation from passing no matter how many of these psychos go on a rampage. All they have to do is get congress to stall long enough for the public to forget and the bill is dropped. The only problem is that it's getting hard to forget the shootings when they're just about back-to-back.
