That's only half true, at least from what I've seen. Aparently, everyone starts off getting their posts moderated like that. You have to prove that you can adhere to their standards to move off moderated status. From what I hear, you have to prove to them that you've been properly assimilated into the borg-like hive-mind to achieve this. I think the term I heard that made me think of this is "cyberbalkanization." It's when you go online and you specifically look for people whose beliefs match your own instead of exposing yourself to a wide variety of beliefs.
