Anyway, I think that the US is one of the very few countries in the world where churches have tax exempt status.
I know that the catholic church and some Lutheran churches get tax exsemptions here on the hospitals they have built and provide, their contributions to the social healthcare system, to the wealthare system and any socialy benefitial action in general.
And I know that in greece the greek orthodox church isnt only tax excempt but also get`s massive goverment subsidations, which that chucrch used to con the state and get rich.
