And there's where we start having problems. I know a number of christians, and a number of fundamentalist denominations who don't dismiss the old testament as not applicable to them. I know a number of these types of christians personally.

Do you not understand that there are thousands of christian churches, and that some of them don't take your particular stance? Tell us all why they're wrong and you are right. That's the core of my argument: why should we take your- old testament ignoring, for example- stance as the correct, and only correct, one? And how, exactly, does the fact that someone else might follow a different teaching that accepts both the old and new testament make them less of a christian?

The NT across the board condemns everything done in PNG! Therefore nothing these men did, can be considered a 'Christian act' Nor an act of worship to the God of the bible.

If you're being genuine about calling us bigots, I think here might be the point of disconnect. I understand that, to you, the new testament disavows the actions of these men as christians, and that you think we're bigots for claiming otherwise. And if your specific christian denomination was the only one we had, you'd probably be right.

But the fact is, there are plenty of other christian churches. Some like the old testament, and if they did, then yes, these men would have been acting under christian beliefs; because they don't need your approval to be christians. If they're following the religious teachings they've been given- and again I have to remind you that not all christian denominations teach the same things- then they're christian. Unless you can, of course, provide us with a reason as to why your teachings take precedent over theirs.

We're not being bigoted against christianity, we're just acknowledging the fact that there are many different interpretations of this religion. In fact, you're being more bigoted than we are by demanding that yours is the only proper type of christianity.

Bigotry (in this instance) is misrepresenting the religious beliefs of an entire religion in order to self righteously persecute all who follow that religion. Even after you have been educated to Biblical standards and expectations that all bible believing Christians adhere to..
